Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and unlicensed impotence medications via the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.

"These kinds of items being offered, usually online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
